So this is Christmas?

I just read this article about a man being trampled to death at Wal-Mart when the store opened for Christmas sales. I can't believe that this is what we've turned Christmas into. This is why I never go boxing day shopping.

I read this article to the class I was TOCing for. Shocking, isn't it? I hope the deals on toys or toilet paper were worth it. Mob mentality is scary. What I wonder, is after the pushing and shoving was over and people were through the door, did they realize what they had done? If they did, did they still continue shopping and did Walmart stay open?

Once you take Christ out of Christmas, all you have left is a greedy spending spree. This year, my family has decided only to buy gifts for my nepheau and a few gifts for needy families we know. We are all sick of the irrational spending.

I hope you and Mike had a nice visit in Port and a good Christmas night when he got home from work. I just arrived to the Island today, it is still snowing! Thanks for the nice comment on our blog. Can't wait until our next visit. Love, Melissa
