Le jour du Souvenir

Today is Remembrance day, which unfortunately for us in BC is sometimes just a day off work. But, Today Mike and I attended the Dawson Creek remembrance service. He wore his Red Serge along with a few other members. It was neat to see him all dressed up again. I'm always surprised to remember that my husband is a mountie. The service was very well done and well attended, and afterwards we went out for lunch with some friends who we met at the service. It was too cold out to go to the cenotaph for long, and we didn't want my pregnant friend standing out in the snow.

So, now I'm procrastinating on cleaning up the house and getting ready for work again tomorrow. I'm also trying to plan out some home renovations. I'm dying to tear out the carpet in my living room and the kitchen lino. It's old and stained and I can't wait to get rid of it. Mike's agreed to give me a few hundred dollars for some paint and other decorations too, so I'm excited. Hopefully it will actually feel like home soon!
